Blue & white are classic. All you have to do is find a gorgeous piece from China or Delft & notices how still it looks current & there...poof! Proof.
I've always been a sucker for the cool, crisp manner which the marriage transforms a room, chair or a table. Whether bolds ors whispers all blues create merry with white.
Yup its a true love. Gardens...what would they be with hydrangeas or delphiniums???
Fashion need I say more.
Barclay Butera a charmer in any palette but blues are a fave.
Mary MacDonald. I die every time I see this veranda.
Phoebe Howard & I do believe that everyones adores her outdoors setting.

Flow blue is stunning at its best. The watery effect of the blue is achieved through true transfer ware & its cobalt is not only the most loved but highly prized as well.
Other transfer ware from the Staffordshire region lends a crisper aesthetic but frankly still elevates any table.
Delftware from the Netherlands is traditionally a tin glazed pottery. Who hasn't lusted for tiles in their kitchen????
Royal Copenhagens Blue Fluted Half Lace is my ultimate desire. The sugar bowl coveted. Hand painted artistry you eat off of. Perfection.
Still the Chinese so did & still do it soooooo well & it works with all styles of design.
Carolyn Roehm loves the duet so much it became a gorgeous book.
As summer heats up to oranges & reds remember the cool blues & whites to chill your soul. It never fails...that & a mojito.Images courtesy of Amazon, Carolyn Roehm, House Beautiful, Phoebe Howard & San Fransico Chronicle

Ah Alicia....you know how much I love blue and white and these are gorgeous examples. Saw so much gorgeous antique chinoiserie and delftware at many gorgeous homes/castles/palaces while I was in the UK last week and it just drove home to me how truly timeless this look really is.
Terrific collection of blue images - loved it!
