Back a few months ago as I tried to decide what luscious shade of green I would paint my bedroom, I found myself leaning to a quieter tone, one with more grace but as of late, well I'm sensing the color gods are attempting to saturate my yearning.
It makes sense since in nature it's the bold, no apologies vibrancy that drives me to dithers. I can sit & take this wall in for an eternity.
Tabletop...hello majolica. Wedgwood's is still my preference but I love the the glitz & glamour of Kim Seybert as well. Throw in a vintage plate picked up at a garage sale & Kim's new goes well with the bolds of yesteryear.
Ever notice that you can be thinking of something & then pow!!! Its laid at your doorstep over & over again. These rooms have popped up in the oddest places recently or have I been led to them unsuspectingly??? The enigma continues...
To further along the whims of the color gods attempting to reach me I've had another series of thunder bolts.
So I bow down to the gods & their love of of vibrant, vivacious verde, emerald kelly & beyond solemnly swearing to embrace this in my space. I should not be surprised though. I've once before embraced it with my soul through words.

Wishing everyone a vibrant & vivacious weekend!!!!!
run past the trees, deeper into the forest
green, dark, almost black
this color, where you'll find me
this color, where you'll find me
breathing from my mosses
hush, hear the rutsle I make
the willows weeping, touch me
wisping & whispering
wisping & whispering
give me comfort, take my ache
play his song just one more time
oh the leaves feel like his fingers
where did the breeze come from, thank you
I can't remember when I felt such warmth
yes I do, closer, reach me
further away, goodnight skyscrapers, traffic lights
imagine devastion, push the branches away
pray be gentle
protect your face, dense as this is
protect your face, dense as this is
remember what you touch
secluded, my scared space
secluded, my scared space
darker than one should travel, I disappear into my night
barely the woman of before, turn around
witness the creature of after
clothed in leaves, caked in dirt
my will snagged by a branch, somewhere past
when my skin lucent would catch your cast
fleeing, consumed
a hollow settled with mist, my humanity caving
from earth to universal
despair tragically lush, nestled in darkness
from earth to universal
despair tragically lush, nestled in darkness
tended by the trees
run
careful though where you step
eventually before you find me, I'll turn to seeds
Wishing everyone a vibrant & vivacious weekend!!!!!

I'm big on green, love it!!
Gorgeous images Alicia. The last one is so relaxing. I love green, it is such a nurturing colour. It is also a great complimentary colour and play well with the other kids. Have a great weekend. Loved your little story in my comments. You got caught holding the fort. Cheers Julie
lime green is my pick! Verde is so sophisticated.

I found your site so charming! Love that green.
You put a great deal of thought into this Blog and it is absolutely delightful! A pleasure to view.
Your writing always appeals to me. Your selection of images are also beautiful. x
I think green is a wonderful color for your bedroom. I favor hunter green as far as greens go but perhaps not in the bedroom. I also like a soft sage green which is the color of my dining room. Sage green looks great with any seasonal decor.
Thanks for your recent visit to my blog!
Alicia - what a really lovely post. I adore green & always am drawn back to it. Hey, have you seen the July House Beautiful? I believe there is a killer green kitchen in the new issue. All the photos you posted were inspiring. Thanks so much for you VERY kind words re: my son's college graduation. It was a tearful but very happy day. He's worked hard & has put himself through college. Before I forget, the poem was terrific!!
This is SUCH a gorgeous color scape! I love emerald green and so this was an absolute delight. Hope you found the perfect shade!
I'm ready to play tag!

My favorite color is green and I have plans to paint my guest room a yellow green soon. I loved the last photo. Thanks
Gorgeous green - it's very hard to beat! Thank you for all the lovely comments you left for me as I was drifting around the Loire Valley. I'm so glad you enjoyed my photos and took the time to tell me. Leigh
Love the emerald green and your words....
lol - thanks for your comment on my hair! You know what started it? I saw this picture of Anne Hathaway with a bob and I thought - I'M pale. I'M brunette - I can do a bob! Unsound reasoning, but there you have it. My hairdresser actually cut it a bit shorter than the Hathaway look, but it worked anyway. Now, I totally love it. Don't even need a blow-dryer!
Hi Alicia -
It's not easy being green, but you did a fabulous job with convincing me that maybe it's easier than I thought! Your photos and words are lovely! I love your blog - it makes me feel good every time I stop by! And, once again thank you for stopping by GirlWhimsy. See you soon in Blog Land!

Isn't is seesaw...I miss all the green oh so very much!!!!
how GORGEOUS !!! i just love this post !!!
Oh, green, my absolute favorite color. I love it downstairs - it will always be part of my palette (I am a redhead, and it is one of the few colors that I look good in).
I love green, and the vibrant shades you featured here are absolutely gorgeous! Thanks too for sharing your writing with us.
This is gorgeous! While I am often hesitant of using much color, for some reason, green has appealed to me this summer - in my wardrobe anyway. I really have enjoyed it - which is so outside my usual boring white/linen/denim standard... :)
